اندلع حريق ضخم في منزل في ستاتين آيلاند بنيويورك مساء الأربعاء، وتصاعدت ألسنة اللهب من المنزل المكون من ثلاثة طوابق في ماسون أفنيو بحي ميدلاند بيتش.

ونشب الحريق حوالي الساعة 7.30 مساءً، وتوجه على الفور رجال الإطفاء للسيطرة على الحريق، واستمر العمل على مدى ليلة كاملة.

ونتيجة للحريق اصيب رجلا من رجال مكافحة الحرائق التابعين لقوات الدفاع الوطني في نيويورك، كما أصيب شخص أخر وتم علاجه من جروح طفيفة، ولم يعرف بعد سبب الحادث وجاري التحقيق لمعرفة الأسباب.
